THIS IS ME - CARYN, and I grew up in Namibia. Our town of Swakopmund is known for its colonial architecture, mild weather and stunning beaches. Luckily for us coffee lovers, it also grew to have quite a unique coffee culture, with several small and intimate family-owned cafés and roasteries that locals frequent for their daily fix and to pick up a bag of their favourite beans Finally we had access to the best coffees, hand roasted with that african flair and this is where I learnt to really love coffee!

Ubuntu Coffee Caryn And Stephan

This roastery runs on LOVE, LAUGHTER, and a whole lot of COFFEE!

A passion for excellent coffee and the everlasting memories of Namibia sparked Ubuntu to life. We want to bring this amazing experience to our new home and community in Denmark.

Our name reflects our core values and beliefs - the concept of a common humanity, the universal bond of sharing, mutual respect, compassion for others, giving back and playing a role in the community and environment.

We believe in the true meaning of Ubuntu - we are because you are - and want our community to feel just as passionate about a great cup of coffee as we do. Local is best, or as we say back home in Namibia, local is lekker!

Our commitment to sustainability

When you grow up in  a country like Namibia (the first African country to incorporate the protection of the environment into its constitution), you are inexplicably connected to the natural world. From a young age I learnt to respect nature, cultures,  ...

I strongly believe the commitment to nature and the livelihoods of the people who grow our coffee. So you can rest assured that my green coffee beans will always be sourced from companies that also believe in the ethical and sustainable approach.
